Danjoo Koorliny -Djinda Mereny Gala Dinner 2024

Prepare Produce Provide were thrilled to be involved in the Danjoo Koorliny 2024 Djinda Mereny / Dinner Under the Stars Gala Dinner held at Government House Gardens on the 14th of March. It was a magical evening filled with warmth, culture and inspiration.

Guests were invited to unwind, dine and connect under the stars. Prepare Produce Provides Djinda Ngardak students were involved in preparing and serving the gala dinner in collaboration with elder Dale Tilbrook and Prepare Produce Provide Chef Paul Iskov and Ultimo Catering and Events.

Being in the presence of indigenous leaders, cultural knowledge holders, artists and families created a welcoming space imbued with the generosity of heart. The exceptional stories shared by our Prepare Produce Provide Youth Ambassadors Molly West and Rishaye Shaw resonated deeply with guests as they eloquently spoke about their contributions and the stories they wished to carry forward into the future.

Elder Dale Tilbrook also shared some beautiful words about the importance of food sharing and the indigenous ingredients infused with love. Prepare Produce Provides Kepa Kwab ~ Beautiful Water, our delicious and natural Non-Alcoholic pink soda was featured on the menu at this alcohol-free event.

Prepare Produce Provides Youth Ambassador Molly West had this to say about the event:

“The atmosphere was incredible, there were deadly mob everywhere: emerging leaders, aunties, uncles and elders.

The stage decorations were some of the pretties I have seen and we were so fortunate to have the privilege to speak on it, and to such a moorditj audience. Rishaye and I explained our role within Prepare Produce Provide as youth ambassadors, the experience we have had working with the organisation and the students who take part in the programs, and some of our recent projects including Kepa Kwab. Explaining the importance of our work and the exciting new ways we are creating to support that, while benefiting the community and encouraging our mob to create positive intergenerational cycles.

I greatly enjoyed networking with new people and catching up with those I already know. The night was complimented by a fantastic menu, food and service - thank you Aunty Dale, Yoda (Paul Iskov) and all the students who helped make that possible.

Thank you to Danjoo Korrliny for putting this all together and for having us, it was truly kwobidak”.
