Youth Ambassador - Shontae Baron-Johns

I was a part of the Djinda Ngardak 2024 program and built a very strong relationship with Molly West, a Prepare Produce Provide Youth Ambassador during this time. She gave me confidence in my current indigenous art journey and gave my involvement a real cultural purpose. This experience made me eager to return and give back to the program the following year. 

Food is very important to me and one of my great memories is my nans kangaroo stew. This program has given me the opportunity to build relationships with chefs that have a vast knowledge in bush foods. This has allowed me to make deeper connections and understand my culture on a deeper level. 

I am very grateful for this opportunity and am looking forward to 2026 and working on country and supporting new students.
