Neal Jackson

Neal Jackson is an English-born chef and restaurateur who has made a significant contribution to Western Australia’s dining scene. After completing his apprenticeship at London’s prestigious Savoy Hotel, he emigrated to Australia in 1971 and built a career spanning nearly five decades.

He opened his first restaurant, the Anchor and Hope Inn in Donnybrook, in 1981 before gaining a strong following through his Bunbury restaurant, Louisa’s. In 1998, Jackson opened the acclaimed Jackson’s Restaurant in Perth, which became one of Western Australia’s most celebrated fine-dining establishments. Renowned for introducing degustation dining to Western Australia and for its focus on exceptional local produce, Jackson’s received numerous awards and was widely regarded as one of Perth’s premier dining destinations. Neal Jackson retired in 2014 after a distinguished 48-year culinary career.
